It was 8 o’clock, and Aman was still sleeping. His mom was trying to wake him up, but she failed and called his dad. His dad woke him up and told him to brush his teeth and then have breakfast.
Aman was a very sleepy boy—he slept in his school bus, during recess, and sometimes even in class.
As Aman was late for school, he had his breakfast quickly and ran as fast as he could because he had missed his school bus. He reached school at 8:45 AM—45 minutes late. His class teacher, Mrs. Alina, punished him, and he had to stand outside the class for the entire period.
In the next period, he realized he had forgotten to bring his science notebook, so once again, he was punished and sent outside the class.
During recess, after eating his lunch, he went for a nap and woke up only when his teacher shouted at him. He was very sad and felt that he was very unlucky.
In the last period, he received a NOC form from his teacher for an exciting hiking trip in the hills of Karnataka. Aman was overjoyed and forgot all about his bad luck.
When his school bus reached home, he ran inside excitedly to tell his mom the amazing news. At the doorstep, a dog was sitting—Aman kicked the dog.
Aman was cruel to animals—he often kicked them, threw stones at them, and mistreated them. His parents always scolded him, but he never listened.
That night, his mom discussed the trip with his dad. His dad agreed, and they signed the NOC form. The next day, as usual, Aman was late for school, but this time, he made sure not to forget the form.
Two days later, Aman, his friends On and Sahil, and their entire class were off on their hiking trip. Aman and his friends sat together in the middle seats.
After a few hours, Aman ate his chips and shared them with his friends. Feeling sleepy, he closed his eyes to rest.
When he opened his eyes, he saw that he was laying on a marble road. He looked around—the entire city was made of marble. Amazed, he walked to knock on one of the houses built by the roadside.
From the first house, a monkey came out and said, “What are you doing here?”
Aman was shocked to see a talking monkey. Curiously, he asked, “Where am I?”
The monkey replied, “You are in a small city that exists under the ground.”
Suddenly, the monkey slapped Aman. Aman, confused, asked, “Why are you slapping me?”
The monkey became angry and tied Aman with ropes. Aman started screaming, louder and louder, but no one came to help him.
The monkey called his friends, and together, they played catch-catch with Aman—using him as their ball. Aman was terrified and started crying.
Then the monkeys placed Aman on a chair and slapped him one by one. Aman cried, “Sorry! Please don’t slap me! Why are you doing this?”
One of the monkeys angrily replied, “This is your fault. You behave very rudely with animals.”
Aman realized his mistake and promised never to harm animals again.
Suddenly, On and Sahil shook Aman—his dream broke. Aman felt so relieved.
Sahil shouted, “We have reached the hiking spot!”
Aman went along with his friends, and they enjoyed the trip a lot.
