    Kira was a 10-year-old girl.
Her holidays had just started, and she was busy packing for her trip to her grandma’s house in Kashmir. Kira was excited to see her grandma and even more thrilled to meet the new dog her grandma had recently bought for her.

Her mother asked her to go to bed and sleep.

Kira was really happy. She jumped into bed and slept peacefully.

Early in the morning, she picked up her suitcase. It was time to leave. She said goodbye to her mother and left.

It was a bright, sunny day. Kira and her father got into the car.

After driving for a while, they stopped at a restaurant for lunch.

By evening, they finally reached Grandma’s house.

They honked the horn to call her.

"Wait a second! I am coming," her grandma said, stepping out with a little puppy in her arms.

Her grandma helped them with the luggage.

    Kira exclaimed,

"What a cute puppy! Come here!"

The puppy ran towards Kira, wagging its tail.

    Its name was Bruno.

That evening, after a delicious dinner, the room was kept warm because Kashmir’s weather was always cold.

It was bedtime, and Kira slept beside her grandma.

The next morning, Kira’s father left for home.

Kira played outside with Bruno, laughing and running around.

Suddenly, her grandma called her inside.

    She left Bruno outside.

    A man took the dog.

When Kira returned, she saw Bruno had disappeared!

    They both searched for him.

"Bruno!! Bruno!!" they shouted, worried and scared.

Her grandma was very anxious and went inside.

    Kira was heartbroken.

She felt guilty for not taking care of the dog and for disappointing her grandma.

That night, she went to her room to sleep, but she couldn’t stop thinking about Bruno.

She took a torch and went outside to look for him.

She saw muddy footprints on the ground.

    They were big.

    She followed them.

The prints led to the jungle.

She hesitated—there could be wild animals inside.

So she returned home and slept.

The next morning, after breakfast, she told her grandma she was going for a walk.

In reality, she was going to find Bruno.

She took a flashlight, wore warm clothes, and left.

Suddenly, she heard someone shouting in the neighborhood—

    "My dog! My dog!"

    Kira followed the footprints again.

This time, she went deep into the jungle.

She was scared but determined to find Bruno and make her grandma happy.

    She kept following the footprints.

Then, she saw a man carrying a dog towards a big hut.

Kira suspected him and started following him.

    The man sensed something.

    He stopped and looked back.

Kira quickly hid behind a tree.

The man took a pistol out of his pocket and walked to the hut.

He put the dog inside and went down the hill again.

    Kira watched closely.

After a while, the man came back with another dog and put it inside the hut too.

    Kira was terrified.

She ran out of the jungle and told her grandma everything.

Her grandma and Kira went straight to the police station.

Kira explained everything and requested the police to come with her.

    The police agreed.

They walked to the jungle, climbed up the hill, and reached the hut.

Inside, they found Bruno and another dog.

When Kira saw Bruno, she ran to him and hugged him.

    Just then, the man entered.

    The police arrested him immediately.

    Kira’s grandma gasped,

    "Ram Lal!!"

    Kira asked,

"Grandma, who is this man? How do you know him?"

    Her grandma sighed and said,

"He used to work in my house, but one day, I caught him stealing my jewelry. I reported him, and the police arrested him, but he escaped."

Ram Lal, in full anger, shouted,

"I wanted revenge by stealing the thing you love the most—your dog! I was just about to sell him, but you and this girl caught me again!"

Kira and her grandma returned home with Bruno.

Kira really enjoyed her holidays, and her grandma was proud of her.

As her vacation ended, Kira said goodbye to her grandma and left for home.

"That was really an adventure!" she said with a smile.
